Along for the Ride

Posted by aine | Sunday.28.06.09 | Book Covers

In honor of Sarah Dessen’s latest release, I want to discuss her last five covers. I happen to love all of her covers. They are simple and beautiful. What do you guys think? Do you have a favorite?

  1. 1) Along For The Ride: I happen to love this cover, although it makes me feel like its taking place in like the 50’s.
2)The paperback version for Lock and Key is better IMHO.
3)I really like this cover, but my favorite part about it would have to be the font.
    4) I love love love the idea of picking pedals off of a flower. Life is chance. I don’t know it’s just a perfect cover for the book.
5)I’m a sucker for covers that have hands and fingers in it. This could stem from my weird obsession with the need to keep my own fingernails nice and pretty. Who knows.

So my favorite cover would have to be…. The Truth About Forever.

Although that’s just out of those five covers. My favorite cover out of all over her books would have to be Dreamland, however, i can’t bring myself to choose between the hardcover edition or the softcover.

  2. Star, you’re right about the cover of Along for the Ride, it gives me a 50’s vibe. I will say its my favorite cover. I havent read it yet so, I’m going with Just Listen as my favorite book…

  3. I agree about the cover of Lock and Key. The paperback picture is better.

  4. I would have to say my favourite cover would have to be Just Listen, possibly because it fits so well with the story. When you first look at it before you read it the cover doesn’t really register but then as you read it and finish the book the cover stands out so much more and fits so well. (Fav book too)

Along for the Ride, I have yet to read but I like how the girl is perched on the bicycle facing the guy with her entire body on the bike. In this position she is completely trusting the guy to not let go the bike and let her fall.

Lock and Key, the cover doesn’t really show much, its really simple. The paperback cover is more interesting but the key on the chain is too dainty/pretty and doesn’t fit the story well.

  5. added the Lock and Key paperback cover to original post.
