In honor of the bookclub this month. I’m going to give 1 Million kudos to the photographer and art director of The Luxe series by Anna Godbersen. It’s absolutely perfect. The book is Gossip Girl set in Victorian New York. The gowns, models, and the typeface fits beautifully together.
Speaking of fonts, I loved it so much that I did a little bit of research. It looks like they used ITC Edwardian Script. If you’re interested in downloading it, I also found a free download here.
Anyway, out of all the Victorian book covers I’ve ever seen this series is the best by a mile.

I freaking adore these covers. They’re very girly, so will automatically put off any potential male readers, but the story is entirely girly anyway.
They’re perfect and they fit the tone of the narrative superbly.

They are very girly, and that would make me less likely to pick it up. While they are gorgeous pictures, they scream “that’s not my type of book!” to me. I think Rumors is my favorite cover. It’s less frilly than the others. And she looks less snobby than the other girls.
The thing that’s interesting about these covers is that they don’t look like book covers. They look like two-page spreads in a magazine.

I absolutely love and adore these book covers.they would catch eveyones eyes.I havnt read the books but im hoping the book is as good as the cover.like you said i would give evry award possible to the photographer and the artist!!!

I love these covers. The dresses are gorgeous. My favourite would have to be the Rumours cover because her dress is just the most eye-catching and intriguing one for me and the style and colour fits Penelope’s personality perfectly. Yes, they’re very girly covers but they fit the theme of the books.

I love the dress in Envy but I love the cover for Rumors, the colour of the dress and the girl’s expression is very eye catching and would catch my interest more.
